Philycia developed a passion for educating young children when she was in university while assisting in her local church. She studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, after which worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for several years in government and private hospitals in Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng as well as corporate medical aids. She observed the need and criticality of early child hood development. After having a child in 2014 her passion grew to an indent to make a difference to society. In 2015 she studied at the College of Modern Montessori and achieved her Montessori diploma in Pre-School 2-6 years with distinction.
In 2016 she left the Pharmaceutical industry to begin teaching at an established Montessori school. She worked specifically as a Directress in the 3-6 year old environment. In 2017 her dream was realized as she set out to open her own place of education.
Her aim is to provide a high quality education in a warm, safe and fun-loving environment. Her greatest passion is to facilitate and guide each child to realise their full potential. We at Little Monties Junior aim to develop independent, responsible and considerate young individuals and provide an environment with the self-determination to learn.
